It is recommended to equip aeration systems with a condensate drainage station, even if the system is a permanent installation. It is possible in this case to remove undesired condensate and rinse the aeration system after cleaning with formic acid so that the residual acid will not adversely affect the stainless steel.
The membrane air diffusers are cleaned by atomizing or spraying formic acid with a concentration of 85% into the air flow. The amount of acid and the cleaning cycle depend on the mechanical design of the aeration system as well as on the aeration elements to be cleaned. The injection locations for injecting the acid must be specified in order to avoid expensive retrofitting.
GVA places a mobile dosing station at our customers’ disposal so that no expensive investment is necessary. The cleaning work can also be carried out by our trained personnel.
